“What are the holidays without traditions?
If one family knows this answer best, it’s the Smith’s. The Smith family owns JOLLY TIME Pop Corn, an Iowan brand that has been handing down the American tradition of popcorn making for almost 100 years.
JOLLY TIME has banded together with another centenarian, family-owned business, Habelman Cranberry, to help you pass along a holiday tradition so antiquated that it began when there weren’t lights to put on trees: Stringing cranberry popcorn garlands. Festive and family-friendly, this beautiful craft will be sure to bring together the people who make it, as well as those you gift it to.”
I think making things with your family is a wonderful tradition. You get to get away from “real life” and its stresses, if only for a few minutes.
You may have a busy weekend because it’s right before Christmas, but try to take some time to create something special with your family. These are the things memories are made of.
My kids and I popped the popcorn with our air popper. We let it sit overnight. Apparently it works better this way when stringing popcorn. The next day, we used the needle and thread to string popcorn and cranberries to make a cute garland.
Every year our tradition is to bake cookies. We have to make sure Santa has fresh yummy cookies to snack on as he travels all over the world! What are some of your family’s traditions? Leave a comment and let us know!
Check out these JOLLY TIME Recipes. I think we are going to make popcorn balls next. Looks like it would be fun.
