Being a mom is a tough job, but being a mom with a cold is terrible! It’s hard trying to take care of your family when you’re sick. As I write this, I am getting over a cold. But, I am glad to have Bigelow tea to keep me company during the cold and flu season!
Whenever I’m sick, I drink lots and lots of tea. I guess you can say it’s the main part of my “Sickness Survival Kit”. When I get sick there are a few essentials that I definitely need on hand.
- Bigelow tea
- lip balm
- tv remote
- comfy blanket
These are just the basics. You can add vitamins, medicine, crossword puzzles, books or a kindle…whatever you need to make it through your cold.
I got my tea, tissues and lip balm from Walmart. It’s a one-stop-shop for your cold and flu needs.
My son’s favorite tea of all time is Bigelow’s I Love Lemon. I remember him actually getting upset when we ran out one time. When I asked him why he likes it so much he said he likes how it tastes and that he only has to add honey and not lemon.
I noticed something. Sometimes when I get sick I really thirsty and want something cold. Don’t get me wrong, hot tea is great and all, but sometimes I just need an ice-cold drink. I looked in my pantry and saw a can of pineapple and got a bright idea. I made a smoothie with my Bigelow Green Tea. Here’s the recipe below:
Pinapple Green Tea Smoothie
1-2 Bigelow green tea bags (use 2 for more green tea flavor)
8oz boiled water
20oz can sliced pineapples (with juice)
8-10 ice cubes
Steep tea bag(s) in 8oz of boiled water. Let cool.
Remove tea bag(s) and discard. Add cooled tea and other ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately. This recipe made about 4 servings. (All depends on sizes of glasses you use.)
I just checked out the Bigelow website and they have so many varieties I haven’t even tried yet. I’d love to hear your favorite. Check out their site then come back and leave a comment with tea flavor that tops your list.
