I am receiving Nutristytem in exchange for blogging about my weight loss journey. All opinions are mine.
I’ve always been overweight. As a kid, I was chubby. As a teenager, there were times where I swore I was so fat. But in retrospect, I was only about 20 lbs overweight at times. I wish I could look like that again!
When I got pregnant with my first son in 1999 I knew I would have to have surgery to remove a football-sized cyst on my ovary. They were afraid that would rupture and cause the baby harm. At almost 5 months pregnant, not being able to do much from surgery and being pregnant, I gained 65 lbs. It’s been a roller coaster from there.
At the end of 2014/beginning of 2015 I was finally in a groove working out on an almost-daily basis. But unfortunately, I ended up rupturing my left gastrocnemius (calf) which left me unable to work out for months. By then, I had started eating like crap again and just gave up. I gained the weight back that I lost.
But, today, I’m done with complaining. I’m done with excuses. It’s time to make a change. I want to love things more. It seems like all I do is hate things. I hate taking pictures, I hate not wearing certain things, I hate not doing certain things…all because of my weight.
One reason I chose to do this on my blog is the possibility of helping others. I decided to push my feelings aside. The feelings of being ashamed and embarrassed because of my weight and my size. If I can help others by putting myself out there, then it’s worth it.
Well, here I am in all my 285 lb glory.
I’m excited to be starting Nutrisystem program! The first week is called the Turbo Takeoff. It’s an accelerated program to help you start your weight loss. It includes seven days of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, Turbo Shakes, NutriCrush® Shakes, and a meal planner for the week. For me, the first week is always the toughest. (Especially the first day!) But, it’s 8pm and I’m doing just fine!
