I am receiving Nutristytem in exchange for blogging about my weight loss journey. All opinions are mine.
It takes a while to make a something stick. Habits don’t form overnight. They take time. You need to learn. And part of learning is slipping up so you know where you’ve gone wrong so you are able to fix it and make it stick. Right now I am trying to begin incorporating exercise so it becomes an everyday habit. I’m not there, but I know it will happen.
Changing the way I eat has been a struggle, but being on Nutrisystem has taught re-taught me what portions should look like, to add lots of veggies to fill me up, and to eat smaller portions throughout the day. What I need to get a hand of is being prepared when I know I am going to be busy and away from home. Whether I’m at work, out running errands, or watching my kids play sports, I have to plan ahead when I know I won’t be home and pack my food accordingly. This has been my downfall. For instance, yesterday, I was following the plan really well, and then I missed my snack and dinner and was hungry, so I grabbed a slice of pizza. I mean it’s not the worst thing in the world, but unfortunately, it has been the norm for a very long time, so this is where I’m learning to stop that habit a and form a new, healthier one by packing veggies and Nutrisystem snacks in my lunch bag to take with me in the car. This struggle has caused me to not lose weight this week. I gained about 1 lb.
As week 4 came to an end and I began week 5, I wish I had something better to post. Something more encouraging and positive. But, you know what? This is real, this is life. So yes, I have struggled. But every week the struggle has been less and less and I guess this means I’m learning to make this a habit. If you remember my post from last week, you will see it got really tough. So, in a way, it is positive. If I was able to go from A-Z in the past I wouldn’t be where I am. There is so much in between to learn so changes will be positive and stick. And that’s how we learn. That’s how things become a habit. Slowly but surely.
I ended up playing catch up since one week I gained, and the next I lost.
