Did you ever wonder what a “CRT” is or what someone means when they write “YMMV”? Here is a list of some commonly used coupon abbreviations.
ALA: As Low As
All You: All You Magazine – has coupons
Blinkie: A coupon that comes out of a little machine attached to a shelf near the item that usually says “take one”
CAT: (AKA Catalina) A coupon that comes out when you are done paying for your order. Comes from a machine usually located next to where your receipt comes from. The coupon is usually for a dollar amount off of your next order.
CellFire: A website that allows you to download e-coupons/digital coupons to your store loyalty cards
CRT: Cash Register Tape (a receipt)
DND: A coupon that states “Do Not Double”
DND5: A coupon that States “Do Not Double” but starts with a 5 in the code which will usually double anyway (unless a cashier overrides it)
ECB/ECBs: Extra Care Bucks (CVS)
GM: General Mills Coupon Insert
Insert: Coupon inserts that come in Sunday Papers
Matchup: Matching store sales to coupons
MFG: Manufacturer (AKA MFR)
MIR: Mail in Rebate
MM: Money Maker
Non-SS: Non Sunday Supplement, meaning a coupon not found in a Sunday Newspaper Insert
OOP: Out of Pocket
OYNO: On Your Next Order (or Off Your Next Order)
Peelie: A coupon you peel off of an item
PG/P&G: Proctor and Gamble Coupon Insert
Printable: A Coupon You Print from the Computer
RP: Red Plum Coupon Insert
SavingStar: A website that allows you to download e-coupons/digital coupons to your store loyalty cards
SS: Smart Source Coupon Insert (Some people refer to SS as Sunday Supplement)
Stacking: When you can use a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon
WYB: When You Buy
YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary (meaning it may be different for you at your store)
