Spring Cleaning: Clean Out Your Microwave

Sometimes the inside of your microwave gets icky. Sometimes things get so stuck on that it’s hard to just spray and wipe. Here are a few ideas to help remove stuck on food and make the inside of your microwave sparkly clean.

1. Sponge

Wet a sponge and put in the microwave for 1 minute. Wait about a minute. Spray with cleaner and wipe with the sponge

2. Vinegar

Put 1 tsp of vinegar in a microwave safe bowl with 1 c. of water. Microwave for 3 minutes or until steamy. Wipe with sponge or rag.

3. Lemon

Cut a lemon in half and place on a microwave safe dish with a few tbs of water. Put in microwave for about 1 minute (or until you see steam). Wipe!

Warning: Be careful! Don’t microwave for more time than necessary. HOT HOT HOT

Spring Cleaning Challenge: Clean Out Your Email

For a while, I tried to delete all unnecessary emails. I vowed to myself that I wouldn’t let the numbers creep up back to the hundreds…even thousands. But alas, here we are again.

It’s spring cleaning time, so what better time than now to clean out your inbox!

Delete all emails you don’t need and save all others. If you’re not sure if you need certain emails play it safe. Don’t trash them, save them. Make folders for the emails.

Here are some examples of folders you can create:

  • Receipts
  • Name of Person
  • Company Name
  • Savings and Deals Websites (like www.thefrugalfairy.com *WINK*)
  • Business
  • Personal
  • School
  • Work
  • and if all else fails, Miscellaneous for those emails you’re not so sure of

If you have the time to do it all at once, great! If you have a lot of emails to go through but don’t have a lot of time to sit there, do it in spurts! A few minutes here and there and you’ll get it done in no time.

From then on, try to save/delete emails as they come in.
